5 Savoury Recipes With A Jar Of Peanut Butter 

The culinary world offers endless possibilities when it comes to peanut butter. We are sure that you have encountered it in various forms and have probably engaged in debates regarding which type is your favourite – crunchy, smooth, with nuts? Regardless of your preference, this versatile spread can be added to almost any dish to take it to another level.

 


1. The All-Time Favourite Peanut Butter And Jelly Sandwich

This classic snack is always a crowd-pleaser. It is easy and certainly hits the spot, while still giving you a dose of healthy fats. 

For this recipe, you will need a jar of natural peanut butter, fruit jam/jelly, butter and whole wheat or sourdough bread (any choice of bread works). Spread the butter evenly on your sliced bread. Then stir the peanut butter or melt it in the microwave till smooth. You can spread a layer of peanut butter on the bread.  On another slice of bread, spread a thin layer of jam. Place the slices together and cut them how you like. There you have a delicious sweet and salty treat that you can take on the go! You can add more sweetness with some honey as well.


       2. The Classic Peanut Butter Cookie

      People of all ages enjoy freshly baked cookies. And peanut butter cookies are not just healthy but a divine alternative to unhealthy snacks. 

      Take 1 cup of peanut butter, 1 ¼ cup of sugar, ½ cup of butter, an egg, 1 tsp of vanilla extract, 1 ½ cup of flour, ½ tsp of salt and ½ tsp of baking soda. 15 minutes before you put your cookies in, preheat the oven to 375◦F. In a large bowl, whisk together your sugar and molten butter. Beat the egg and mix it into the sugar-butter mixture. Add in the peanut butter and vanilla extract. Now, add in the salt, baking powder and whisk till smooth. Make 1 inch sized balls of dough and roll these in ¼ cup of granulated sugar. Space them out evenly on a baking tray with baking/parchment paper. Use a fork to flatten them out and bake for 12-15 min. Take them out once the edges of the cookies turn golden brown and let them cool. 

      Here you have cookies ready to dig into! 


          3. A Decadent Peanut Butter Milkshake

          This creamy milkshake is sure to refresh you while giving you a boost of energy as you carry on with the rest of your day. 

          For this one, you will need 2 cups of vanilla ice cream, ½ cup of smooth peanut butter, ¾ cup of milk, whipped cream and a handful of chopped peanuts. Blend the ice cream, peanut butter and milk in a blender until a smooth texture is acquired. Pour this out in two glasses and finish it off with the whipped cream and peanuts. To give this milkshake an added touch of healthiness, you can add a banana to get some extra vitamins and minerals into your diet too! 


            4. Protein-Packed Peanut Butter Granola Bars 

            Homemade granola bars are a nutrient-rich mid-day snack for people of all ages. These chewy bars are sure to hit the spot, even when you are in a hurry. 

            The ingredients you need to gather are natural peanut butter, honey, oats, coconut oil, vanilla extract, almonds, chocolate chips and salt. In a pan, heat the honey, coconut oil and peanut butter. Place on low heat till it starts to simmer. Then, continuously stir on medium heat for 1 min. Take this off the heat. Now, mix in the vanilla extract and salt. Add in all the rest of the elements (except the chocolate chips) and combine thoroughly. Put this in the fridge for 15 min. After this, you may add the chocolate chips. Flatten the granola mixture into a baking tray and refrigerate for at least an hour. Cut them into squares and now you have your goodies ready to go!


              5.No-Bake Peanut Butter Pie

              If you do not have an oven, this recipe might be your new secret weapon. It is easy, fluffy and luscious! 

              For this recipe, take smooth peanut butter, heavy cream, powdered sugar, cream cheese, and a crust made with Oreos. (Just crush some Oreos and flatten them on the bottom of a pan and bake this to make your own). Using a bowl, whisk the cream until it forms stiff peaks. In a separate bowl, gently mix the peanut butter, cream cheese and sugar until fluffy. Fold in the whipped cream. Add this mixture to the pie crust and freeze for an hour. Bon Appetit!
